Classified Ad Scheduling

Ads are placed in the next available issue. Advertising deadlines are always the first of the month prior to a publication month. Thus:

Deadline Issue
January 1 February
March 1 April
May 1 June
July 1 August
September 1 October
November 1 December

Ads ordered after the deadline will appear in the subsequent issue.

How Your Ad Will Look

All REALbasic Developer Classified Ads appear on a single page in the magazine. Ads are placed in one of five main categories: Cool Free Stuff, For Sale, Jobs, Services, and Misc. Within each category are one or more subcategories.

Examples: "For Sale/Made with RB," "For Sale/RB Plugins," "Services/Custom Development," "Services/RB Consultant," "Services/Icon Artist Available," "Jobs/RB Programmer Wanted," "Jobs/RB Plugin Developer Wanted," "Cool Free Stuff/Cool Websites," "Misc/Announcments," etc.

For instance, if you'd like to promote free RB classes or objects you've made, you'd put them under "Cool Free Stuff." If you've written a program in REALbasic and want to sell it, put it under "For Sale/Made with RB." If you're an RB plugin developer, advertise your products within "For Sale/RB Plugins."

Classified Ad Pricing

Ads are priced by byte (character). The normal rate is $0.15 per byte. However, if you run the same ad (no changes) in more than one issue, you get a discount of one penny per character per run. So if you run your ad twice, the rate drops to $0.14 per byte. Three runs is $0.13 per byte, etc. Six runs (the maximum) gets your ad down to a mere $0.10 per byte!

Let's look at how this works with an example.
