It seems like a flurry of reporting products are becoming available in 2009. This time, we will be looking at RSReports by Roth Soft.
A Quick Overview
RSReport is a new $86 reporting add-on for REALbasic. Roth Soft originally used it in their LehrerOffice Easy product and decided to make the reporting components available to the REALbasic community. Unfortunately, Roth Soft is offering no formal support for it and the documentation is only available in German.
At the Roth Soft web site (http://www.rothsoft.ch/realbasic/rsreport) you can download an executable demo of RSReport that clearly shows types of reports it can be used to create. Figure 1 shows the demo application generating a sample report.
You can also download the REALbasic project for the demonstration application. It includes RSReport as encrypted classes which you copy into your own projects.
RSReport has some pretty impressive features, including:
