Excerpt of article text...
I'm writing this just days after Real World 2008 concluded. Real Software revealed some tidbits as to the direction they're taking REALbasic and REAL SQL Server, and the attendees attended some awesome technical sessions where they learned something that solves a real world (pardon the pun) problem for them. But that's the not the real value of Real World.
You will find no stronger concentration of REALbasic developers than you will at Real World. RB developers come from all over the world to share three days in Austin, Texas. Real World is where you go to connect with the community of REALbasic developers. Individual members of the community are sometimes available via the RB Forums and the NUG list, but it's not the same thing as sitting down at a table with someone and talking face-to-face. There is an intangible benefit to being in a room of like-minded individuals that share common experiences, needs and goals.
