Disc burning application updated

Miss those hourly chimes?
Pariahware has released v1.5 of ChimeX, a MacOS X utility that brings back the hourly chimes missing in the new OS. Choose between speaking the time, playing an alert sound, playing a sound file (QuickTime compatible), or having ChimeX randomly choose a file from a folder. Alerts may be set for the hour, quarter past, half past, and quarter of. In addition, v1.5 restores the Dock icon, removes the menu bar icon, adds bug fixes, and addsTiger and Panther compatibility, as well as an updated user interface including online help and the ability to check for new versions within the application.

Custom EditField for REALbasic
WordGuise is a REALbasic plugin that defines a widget to be used as a text editor for Windows and Macintosh. WordGuise is also an RTF control, supporting most, if not all, of the gadgets of an RTF document. In addition, it allows embedding of picture objects in the text. WordGuise was put to life to provide an alternative to REALbasic's EditField. This plugin demonstrates the successful development of a different plugin architecture allowing a control to be instantiated as a class on the fly, in addition to providing a very simple window container (WordGuiseContainer) for design time purposes. WordGuise uses native text rendering engines for the Mac and Windows platforms.

AB Transfer reads, converts, and imports contact data from files into OS X's address book. Turingart's solution imports comma separated data (CSV), TAB-separated data, and Act! DBF files.
