Home Again
I took the long way home from Austin, Texas, where I traveled to attend the second annual REAL World REALbasic conference. It feels great to be home, but it was wonderful to see fellow RBers and get a feel for what neat things others are doing, not to mention learning a great deal from all those sessions. I left inspired and more determined to do more programming this year. (I've got to stop wasting valuable coding time with little things like a bimonthly magazine to produce.) Also, the promise of REALbasic 2005 (see page XX) -- we'll finally be able to open more than one project at a time! -- has me excited. I can't wait for next year; I sure hope to see you there.
In This Issue
One of the most common questions from beginning shareware authors is about registration systems: you know, those secret registration code things that turn a crippled demo into a full program. Of course those things only work if they're secret, so generally no one wants to reveal how their system works. Until now. Our feature begins on page XX.
I've written our cover story on this year's REAL World conference and I've included a lot of photos from the event (see page XX), so if you couldn't make it, this is almost as good as being there. Nah, who am I kidding! This'll just make you wish you'd gone!
