I just finished watching the Apple WWDC 2025 keynote, and most of the rumors I had heard beforehand proved true. All the various platform operating systems now have the same version (26), which feels weird, although I'm sure we'll all get used to it.
The new "liquid glass" looks shiny, although I'm slightly concerned about reduced contrast. I guess we will know more once we see it in action. I was most surprised by the many changes to iPad iOS, especially the windowing and more obvious menuing. The iPad morphing into a Mac was not on my bingo card.
XAML on Windows
Moving away from Apple, let's talk about Windows. There have been no shortage of Windows APIs throughout the years, with Microsoft seemingly introducing new ones before a prior one even got any traction. It was hard to trust their commitment to any particular API, which is one reason Xojo has used Win32 (now called WinAPI) for so long—it's been stable and reliable if not very flashy.
