Clipsaver is a MacOS X utility that gives users the ability to automatically save text in the clipboard to a file. ClipSaver is made with REALbasic from REAL Software, Inc. Realmac Software announces ControlSplitter

ControlSplitter is a canvas control for REALbasic, it functions as a window splitter control. It divides up your window into sections and allows these sections to be resized by the user. Just like Apple's Mail app. ControlSplitter can give your REALbasic application that professional cocoa look, unlike other Window Splitter controls available for RB, ControlSplitter works in real time, letting you see the controls live resize. ControlSplitter also offer to different looks for the splitter handle.

PandaWare updates DiskWrangler

The PandaWare Company has updated its keyboard-powered Mac OS X file browser and launcher, DiskWrangler, to improve usability. DiskWrangler 1.0.2 addresses a number of interface improvements and is made with REALbasic.

HiSlider/DoubleSlider/TripleSlider controls: DoubleSlider Plugin

DoubleSlider is a MacOSX-only REALbasic 4.0-and-higher plugin and implements the HiSlider, DoubleSlider and TripleSlider controls, which can live on composited and non-composited windows. The controls provide slider bars with one, two and three thumbs and can be customized by setting flags in design time or in runtime. The sliders are in it self customized OSX-controls using the HIToolbox API that was introduced with Jaguar. Users of this plugin should be aware that Jaguar (OSX 10.2.x) is the minimum requirement.

FTP Suite for REALbasic Released

Pyramid Designs, a software development firm, announces an update to FTP Suite, a set of classes and code modules that allows FTP operations to be implemented in REALbasic applications. Release 2.1 of FTP Suite adds the ability to rename files on a remote server. Multiple files, provided they are all in the same remote directory, can be renamed.

Alfred Van Hoek releases GrowBox plugin

This plugin implements a GrowBoxView control to be used with other controls. It provides a widget, a growIcon, to resize panes, complementary to the GrowBoxView of the window. By click and dragging the control you can move other controls. You can set the transparency of the control.

iDevGames adds a REALbasic Forum

iDevGames announces a forum devoted to game development using REALbasic for Macintosh. Join the web's largest community of developers, artists, and musicians creating games for the Mac! The iDevGames web site features free assets, forums, news, reviews, tutorials, and articles that cover all aspects of game development on the Macintosh platform. iDevGames also runs the annual Macintosh game programming contest uDevGame, which is about to kick off for 2003.

Metrowerks Teams With REAL Software, SolidWave Software To Speed Creation Of Mac(C) Applications

The offering, called the Productivity Bundle, includes REAL Software's REALbasic 4.5 object-oriented rapid application development (RAD) environment, SolidWave Software's RADicode 1.0 code converter, and Metrowerks' CodeWarrior Development Studio, Mac(C) OS X Edition. Real Software Ships REALbasic 5.2

REAL Software, Inc. announced today the release of REALbasic 5.2, which offers a wide range of improvements. The update specifically provides greatly reduced compile times when compared to REALbasic 5.1. This update is free of charge for all existing REALbasic 5 customers and can be obtained directly from REAL Software's website. "This update delivers what our customers have been asking for: improved reliability and faster compiling for large projects," said Geoff Perlman, president and CEO of REAL Software. "Version 5.2 is by far the most stable and feature-rich REALbasic ever."
