Barcode Automator is a scriptable, bulk barcode generation solution for Macintosh. This update brings an extended EAN barcode generation system to the product, allowing Barcode Automator to generate barcodes for ISSN and ISMN values. ISBN barcodes ("Bookland EANs") are also supported.

Bible Reader Free is a free Bible viewing application for Mac OS X, giving access to multiple books/chapters at the same time. Features include the ability to search for words across all or select parts of the Bible, and apply 'swaps' automatically (where one word can be changed for another - like 'you' for 'thee').

DarkHighlightListBox class released

DarkHighlightListBox is a REALbasic implementation of the ListBox control that Cocoa uses. The main difference is that it uses a darker color for the highlight color as opposed to the lighter highlight color that REALbasic uses. DarkHighlightListBox requires REALbasic 5.1 or later.

Alfred Van Hoek releases DoubleSlider 1.6

DoubleSlider is a Mac OS X, REALbasic 4.0-and-higher plugin and can live on composited and non-composited windows. The control implements a slider bar with two thumbs and can be customized by setting flags in design time or in runtime. DoubleSlider is in itself a customized OS X control using the HIToolbox API that was introduced with Jaguar. Users of this plugin should be aware that Jaguar (OS X 10.2.x) is the minimum requirement. Note that a single slider is provided too, with many more capabilities than RB's slider.

The ElfData plugin is a paradigm and library for processing, manipulating, and handling REALbasic strings and string data in general. This paradigm is represented by the ElfData class. While the plugin aims to be simple, there are a lot of properties and methods. Some developers may want to find out every little detail of how the plugin works. Other developers may want to read techniques for how to get the most speed out of this plugin. Other developers might have been users of the String Stuff plugin, and might want to upgrade.

Christian Schmitz releases Fullscreen Movie Player 1.1

New Mac users are sometimes confused and think they need to buy a copy of the QuickTime Pro Movie Player to get full screen movie playback. This application provides this for free. Just drop a movie on the application icon or use the Open command from the menu. Press the "esc" key at any time to quit the player or use QuickTime's movie controller to navigate through the movie. This version brings a few bug fixes.

Charles Yeomans announces MacFolderManager

MacFolderManager is a module that allows you to call the Mac Folder Manager to locate various system files. You can specify a volume or a disk/domain constant. As an example of recent interest, FindFolder(kUserDomain, KSystemSoundsFolderType, false) returns a FolderItem pointing to the OS X Sounds folder in the Library folder of the current user.

Monkeybread Software releases version 3.1 of their plugin

This plugin, which has grown over the last two years, adds around 4400 functions, methods, and classes to REALbasic. A lot of the new stuff in the plugin demonstrates some of the thousand new features, like compiling AppleScript code on the fly, compressing files using StuffIt, capturing images from digital cameras, adding global menus to the menu bar on Mac OS X, and encrypting data.

SceneBench is a 3D scene editing and model viewing utility for Macintosh. It has extensive support for mouse-based, "live" direct manipulation -- you can drag and drop not only the elements of your scene, but also most aspects of the REALbasic 3D API, while you watch the effects in real time. The update consists of two additions: a native Mac OS X version using Quesa (previously was Classic only) and optional automatic conversion of 3DMF file creator codes to SceneBench's.

iScooper enables users to automatically download and browse batches of pictures much faster and much more conveniently than they can with conventional web browsers. iScooper is designed to work with web pages that contain many links to pictures -- for example, a celebrity web page that contains several links to photos of the celebrity. iScooper can take a web page like this and automatically download all the linked photos on it. Once they've been downloaded, they can easily be viewed in a full-screen slideshow right from within iScooper.
