Tell me a little about yourself.
I'm very much a Mac fanatic. I couldn't really get interested in computers until my family got our first Mac in 1985.
My father was a newspaper publisher and was an early adopter of the Mac's new desktop publishing technology.
My intro to programming was in the late '80s with Hypercard. I played around with a lot of the usual kinds of Hypercard stacks, and Hypercard also got me interested in hypertext, some four or five years before the World Wide Web really took off.
Matterform's first commerical product was the HTML Grinder, which was a very successful Web site management tool in the early days of the Web. It was written entirely in Hypercard, which surprised a lot of people because it really did look like a double-clickable standalone app, with plugins and everything.
When did you discover REALbasic?
By 1997 or so, it was becoming clear that Hypercard was going to be a dead end. Apple really dropped the ball on a great product, unfortunately.
