Barney's Code Shack, 3477 Grant Avenue, 3:57 pm
Barney jumped up as the detectives walked in. "Officers! You're no doubt curious about these plugins. You see, I was just going to turn them in to the precinct, when I got stuck over on--"
"Barney," Sanders interrupted, "what do you know about Mixed State?"
"Mixed State? Is that physics? You know I never could keep those equations straight. One time I--"
Marsh was unfazed. "Did you sell any code to Phil Stevens?"
Barney's face fell, and he looked down. "No. I've never heard of him."
Marsh took him by the lapels and pushed him against the wall. "Listen, Barney, you show me this code you sold to Stevens or I'll set all your monitors to 640 by 480!"
Barney paused, and Sanders took a step toward the two. "Look, Barn, you don't want us to rearrange your icons. Show us what you got and we'll go easy on you."
"All right, all right. Yeah, I sold him some stuff. He practically had it figured out already. Here it is,"--he pulled some paper from a filing cabinet-- "but I'm telling you, it was legitimate business. I just don't want people to know I've got mixed state stuff."
