News from 1.2 (October/November 2002)

An open-source Socket solution for REALbasic developers, was updated to version 1.0.1 from developer Drew Hamlin of Vizspring Software. The new version fixes a bug where DataAvailable() in the instance of a class would be called, even when no data was on the queue due to incorrectly formatted incoming text. QueueSocket is available for free download and royalty-free use. Link to Website

MaskEditField v1.0

A REALbasic plug-in control class to create Masked EditFields. Masked Editfields are used to control the users input to the EditField so that the data is entered in correct format. Both the full version and free demo of MaskEditField are available for download. Link to Website

Monkeybread Plugin v2.6

RB Plugin Plunger v3.0a8

RB Plugin Plunger retrieves information from the classes, controls, methods, events and eventInstances from a plugin, while additional information from the resource fork of the plugin is being retrieved as well. RB Plugin Plunger is also useful for plugin developers. They can add help files directly into the plugin resources. In addition a nifty HTML generator allows the production of hundreds of HTML files you can use to publish help on the web. NavCallBack Class v2.8

NavCallback provides additional info and manipulates a NavDialog. When subclassed, you can block opening, or saving or block creation of a new folder. You can monitor what files are being selected by the client, such that when the client cancels the Navdialog, you still know what the last folderitem was that was selected. vCard Reader Class

This is the first release of a class that you can use (modify if you wish) to process vCard files. It is used in two of my applications to accept dragged items out of the Apple Address Book. It so far supports vCard 2.1 and 3.0 formats. Link to Website

Carbon Declare Library 07/09

A module chock full of Carbon (and Classic) Declares. It was started by Jarvis Badgley and contributed to by others, but he has since turned it over to me. The Carbon Declare Library provides many useful functions, especially for good OS X behaviour. It also includes a project that demonstrates many of its features. MPCalcRB is a multi-precision RPN calculator built using REALbasic and MPCalc plugin. It can handle numbers with up to 30,000 decimal digits. As floating point numbers, the magnitude of the exponent can be very large, of the order of 40,000,000 or so. Link to Website
